Botox® is a naturally occurring substance that helps restore freshness, youth, and beauty to faces that have been damaged by the process of living. Since its clearance by the FDA in 2002, providing proof of its safety and effectiveness, BOTOX® has become the single most popular non-surgical, cosmetic procedure in the United States.

Botox Target Areas

Botox® can safely and successfully treat dynamic wrinkles and excessive sweating, typically under the arms in both men and women. Common target areas are:

  • Forehead Lines
  • Crow’s Feet (lines around the eyes)
  • Frown Line (between the eyebrows)
  • Hyperhidrosis- Excessive sweating under the arms.
  • The Gummy Smile / Lip Flip

Botox - What To Expect

Botox® procedure is virtually painless, no numbing medicine is needed. The needle used for Botox® is much thinner and shorter that your typical needle, basically the size of an insulin needle. Botox®, a muscle relaxer, is injected certain target areas of your face causing the underlying muscle to relax which results in the desired cosmetic effect. The amount of Botox® injected (units) depends on the treatment area, some areas may require 5 units while others may require 20. A typical treatment takes about 30 minutes and around 50 units of Botox®.

While you may notice some benefits from the treatment after just a few days, the full effect usually takes about 2-3 weeks to be fully appreciated. Results typically last 3-4 months.
